The Shimmy Queen herself, internationally acclaimed Belly Dance performer and instructor, Leyla Jouvana will be back in Albuquerque August 30-31, 2008! She'll be accompanied by her master-percussionist husbad, Roland in two days of shimmies, choreographies, and hot performances!

Workshops

Location is being finalized, but you can reserve your spot in this day-long workshop. Leyla will teach her signature shimmies (and many of their 1001 Variations) in the morning. And no CDs--Roland will provide live music all morning. If that doesn't get your shimmy on, nothing will! The afternoon will feature a hot new Egyptian Pop Choreography. $80 before June 1 for five hours of instruction. After June 1, $100.

World Dance and Percussion Festival

Beyond Belly Dance, this show will feature many styles of dance which thrive on percussion. Flamenco, African, Samba, Bhangra, just to name a few. Of course, it would not be a Farfesha Production without the best in Belly Dance featuring the southwest's most dynamic dancers and of course, LEYLA JOUVANA and ROLAND! Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door

Workshops

The Sunday workshops will be geared to the professional or advanced dancer. Space will be limited to 20 so that everyone gets intensive instruction from Leyla herself! Technique, combinations, and choreography will be taught. $60 for four hours of instruction before June 1st, $80 after June 1st.

Weekend Package...Both days of workshops and a show ticket, $165 before June 1st, $190 after June 1st.
